Boy, there is nothing like opening your own business. Of course, the decision to open one doesn’t usually happen on a whim even though it may seem like it at first. There is years of frustration from working for others. Realizing you want to never have to ask for days off (sick days are the worst around deadlines!) and knowing you can define your own schedules.
No boss in the world will be that flexible!
Owning your own business is especially good if you have a family with children. You no longer will have to miss their school events or soccer leagues.
One essential thing I have found to run my business smoothly is a project management software; without this, I may be dead in the water. I have trained myself to not use email with my clients anymore. Now I use this awesome web based management software that takes care of all the details. I definitely love working for myself now.
